With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert George Salisbury—beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend—who left us on April 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 15, 1949, Robert lived a life defined by service, generosity, and love for his family and community. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Robert’s dedication to others began with his career as a Central Falls firefighter, bravely serving his hometown from 1972 to 1986. His courage and commitment never wavered, and he remained a steadfast protector of those around him throughout his life.

In 1979, Robert became the proud owner of the Roundhouse Tavern, where he built more than a business—he built a community. For over three decades, the Tavern stood as a gathering place full of laughter, stories, and the warmth of friendship, all thanks to Bobby’s welcoming spirit.

His commitment to service extended into public office, where he represented District 72 as a state representative from 1989 to 1991. With integrity and heart, he worked tirelessly to give voice to the people he served.

Robert’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Jennifer Hanley, and her husband, Charlie, of North Smithfield, RI. To his cherished grandchildren—Allie, Audrey, and Tyler—he was a loving and playful Papa who found boundless joy in their presence.

He is also survived by his dear sister, Elaine Spevock, and her husband, Jim, of Swansea, MA, along with his caring nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Bob.” He is also survived by his former wife Kathleen (Collins) Joyce of North Smithfield with whom he shares his daughter, and former wife Sandra (Reeves) Salisbury of Pensacola, FL. and Sandi’s son Charles and his family of AZ. Finally, the wonderful friends he had had all his life, and those he made along the way. All will carry his memory forward with deep affection.

Robert was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Quaglia and her husband Michael Quaglia of Pawtucket, his nephew Steve Azevedo, and his beloved parents, Adele and George Salisbury. All of whom were waiting to guide him on his journey home.

A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2pm-4pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln, followed by a gathering at the old Roundhouse Tavern (now JD’s Bar), located at 137 Central St., Central Falls, where stories and memories will be shared in the place he so lovingly built.

Rest in peace, Bobby. Your legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and will always love you.
